Not one of me, but one of fellow forum member Steve Lodge (Stevebasshead) playing on Friday night to 6,000 bikers at a UK rally, his band 'Diablo' tore the place apart.

Is that an Ashdown rig I see back there?

It is Scott, but it belonged to the bassist from another band (Sticky Fingers) who did a great set later in the evening. My rig's in front of it, hidden behind me. It's a pair of Tech Soundsystems 2x12 cabs (I think Peter was pleasantly suprised by how light they were as he helped clear the stage after our set) driven by an Ampeg SVP-Pro + Yamaha poweramp setup.

It's a cool bass, lightweight and sleek (and black!) Got an 86 Shadow bass that I really like as well.

Thanks, Woody! Image

I loved the 4004Cii but the neck was just a bit too chunky for me to play for extended periods. When I first got it new the tone was a little too dark for me so I replaced the HB-1s with toasters and did the VVT mod and then it sounded how I was expecting it to sound like: CLASSIC RICK!!!

The neck is wider than a 4003 which made it perfect for Mark Gilbert, who now owns it, to turn it into a 5 string bass. I wouldn't mind trying it in that configuration, then I might like it better expecting a wider neck for such a bass.
