"Going Back" links Dusty Springfield with The Byrds.

Yes it does Tim, but it doesn't link the Searchers in this case, as far as I know.

OK, let's put an end to the misery here. I am look for two things.
The first pertains to a time in history (month and year)in which these artists shared a top forty UK slot at the same time.
The second is a numerical sequence tied to their music associated with consecutive numbers somewhere between 1 and 10.

Hmmmmm......
July '65:
Byrds #1 - Mr. Tambourine Man
Dusty #9 - In the middle of nowhere
Searchers #26 - He's got no love
August '65:
Byrds #5 Mr. Tambourine Man
Dusty #11 - All I really want to do
Searchers #21 - He's got no love
Am I missing something here, Peter? As you may have guessed by now, I'm no mental giant!!

Not at all Howard. You are definitely "On The Move." The answer I was looking for was August 1965. July 1965 is a bonus.
That is half of the answer.

So I get half a case of Nastro Azzuro, right??
Er.... let's see!
5 times 2 is ten, plus 1 equals 11....
2 times 11 is 22, less 1 equals 21....
Take away the number you first thought of and add your age. Divide by two and then multiply by the number of times you've been out on a blind date.... sheesh, I've run out of fingers and toes!!
Have the other half case delivered to my office, Peter!

I can only assume the sequence you are looking for is 4 8 12. Howard's answer for August 65 has to be incorrect Dusty did not do All I really Want To Do. However I fail to see any connection and answer does not fit your 1 to 10

Roy: I would focus on
a numerical sequence tied to their music associated with consecutive numbers somewhere between 1 and 10

Yeah, well I stuffed up, Roy! August '65 should have read:
Byrds #5 - Mr Tambourine Man
Byrds #11 - All I really want to do
Searchers #21 He's got no love
Dusty #22 - In the middle of nowhere
How do you arrive at 4, 8 & 12?
I'm in the middle of nowhere with no love and all I really want to do is get my busted tambourine fixed!!

Somewhere in my mind the words "I close my eyes, and count to ten" have surfaced.
