Ron,

Are those new or mint old ones?
I like having a Rick and a Fender.

I started out with Fenders and have sold too many good ones in my day (62 P, 64 Jazz) I wish I'd hung onto them!!! But the Rics are by far my favourite. FYI, the Jazz basses are a Sadowsky and and Warmoth Franken Jazz and the Tele is from 1969. Here's the herd, of course with the Rics in the front...

Hey Harry, looks like I've got the twin to your Autumn-Glo (except I changed the pg and dropped in a toaster in the neck position)!

David, that 4005 appears to be darker than usual for Fireglo, and to "bursty" for Burgundy. Is that a refin?

Hey Paul, the picture definitely shows everything darker than how they actually appear although, yes the 4005 was refinished at some point but up close, in the right light it looks a lot more realistic compared to the "usual" FG finish. The refinish was probably a big factor in why I was able to afford it - I'm not sure when it was done. FYI, the 4005 is from Dec. '66 and I've had it for about 3 years. It has one of the fastest, most comfortable necks of anything I've ever owned - which of course has me jonesing for a 60's 4000 or 4001.

Teeder, They are clean, crisp, and extremely good playing pre-CBS appointment 64's (but I still play my 4001 more often!)!

You have some really nice rare basses Mike, original Lake Placid I assume? I didn't even know they offered that color that far back.
ron you do too, I like the Sunbursts best. I'll be looking for a pre-CBS Sunburst P with an A neck next year.

I Have a MIM jazz bass that's about 15 years old. My ricks obviously blow it out of the water for build and sound, but I put a hell of a lot of woodshedding into that bass. Just a basic black and white one. I should probably get it cleaned up and reworked, but it would perhaps cost less to replace it.

Yeah, Andy;s has to be one of the classiest instruments around, period.

David,
I don't remember, are you bringing your 4005 to the RIC Confluence in May? We are trying to get as many as possible together in one location.

Bob - Naw! I wish!! It's a refin. Everything else including the greenguard is original, though. I really believe that this color was possibly available but just never orfered. You never really see these this color on basses until 1963. Damn! I would have ordered it but I was 11 and had no cash!

No you usually see either sunburst, sunburst or sunburst, haha! When I bought my first fender in 1971 the store was full of sunburst Fender guitars and basses, I didn't know they had other colors. There was a row of about 6 Fender VI's hanging.
I was going to say boy, that's a rarity.
