Silly question

I use the ROS jack to kinda get the sound. It's only half of it but that's why I bought the bass.
I use the normal jack for non Rush stuff... and I don't have my non Rush CDs here. I use it alot more with my Pink Floyd, Beatles, McCartney, and soon to be Sabbath and Zeppelin CDs.

using that jack doesnt give you a different sound.
It uses a STEREO jack cable and puts the bridge pickup on one channel and the neck on the other.
The neck pickup gives you bass, the brridge only treble....and you must have 2 amps. Unless you have 2 amps, and a ric o sound splitter box, you cant use ric o sound. Just plug into the standard jack and get either or both pickups.

Hmmm. First time I plugged it in I had BIG beefy sound and in the other the sound I was looking for. So they don't have different sounds? Well that helps... I have my hand over the neck pickup alot, heh.

Nate, it works like this:
USING THE STANDARD JACK:
Switch in middle = both pickups
switch up= neck pickup only
switch down = bridge pickup only (sounds like a twang, has no bass to it)
USING RIC O SOUND JACK:
You only get the bridge pickup. cant get the neck pickup- flipping switch up leaves a silence.
USING RIC O SOUND JACK WITH STEREO SPLITTER INTO 2 AMPS:
switch in middle = both pickups on (both amps)
switch up = Only the "left" amp on
switch down = Only the "right" amp on
hope that helps!

Nate, with both volumes on full you'll have that big beefy sound in the mono jack, just back off the bass volume, the more you back it off the more treble you'll get with treble volume on full, if you shut it off all together it will sound just like the ric-o-sound jack (the way you use it, haha!) Maybe you'll like keeping the cap then if you like that sound, some people here do.
Great, now I'm gonna be made fun of for a LOOOOONG time.
