Funny, considering it's Ric's trademark finish you don't seem to see many 72's in fireglo, compared to M/G, J/G and a surprising number of B/G finishes.

The B-15 is a lot more portable than my B-25, and 4x12 !!!

B-15's weigh more than SVT heads, I think they're close to 100lbs.

The B-15R is 117 lbs.! I was interested in a B-15N that a local shop here has but man, that thing is really heavy. I just bought a second Traynor YS-15 so I will have a vey nice stack with two of those and my Walter Woods head. Maybe I will look for a nice tube head to go with them, vintage of course, as the YS-15 is from the mid to late '60s, maybe a Marshall or Traynor head.

Jeffrey, get a 70's B-15S, they're 60 watts, much cheaper than a B-15R and are probably just as loud and probably also sound better, weight? probably less than the R as I think the new ones use particle board instead of plywood which increases the weight.

Oops, I mean't B-15S is the one I was looking at! The shop still has it for about $550.00-600.00 IIRC.

Those are nice Jeffrey and more rare than the N's with twice the power, I'd snap it up if I were you. That's not too bad of a price either. 7027A's are made again also and reasonable.

The particular tubes needed was another reason I didn't seriously consider buying it. Is the 12DW7 available?

The weight however, was the main reason, it is just too heavy.

All those tubes are readily available brand new now, 12DW7's are used in old SVT's 4 of them and are about ten bucks each. 7027A's probably 30.00 a pair. Did you try it out? Those are great recording amps and are loud enough to gig with also, the speaker cabs are very efficient and Ampeg rates their amps very conservatively. Does it come with a dolly? If not you can get those also at fliptops.com or on ebay. I want it, haha!

I have played through it several times, very nice but it does tend to distort rather early, perhaps it needs new tubes. It does not have the dolly; I am familiar with fliptops, I can make my own dollys for considerably less!

the 12DW7 is half a 12AX7 and half a 12AT7.

Or was that 12AU7...

You could mod the circuitry to accept-except the 15S has a PCB-much more difficult to mod than PTP.
