To get back to the Hendrix guitar, in case anyone wanted a reference for trade on this guy, I use him for my strings, and musta poked at least $73 his way. I have no complaints...so bid away!

However, I'm prepared to be wrong - the dude he's selling in conjuction with stiffed me $115 on insurance on a '62 Sunburst Gold Parts Slab board I shipped him about 3 years ago. Maybe I should buy and only pay $694,885...that'll show him!

Fugedaboudit.... I'll just put on a new set of strings when I feel the urge (which is a lot less often than other players I've known). I can afford the extra few bucks here and there and the string manufacturer (and its employees) appreciates my business.

Bass strings on the other hand are more expensive.... I could see using the boiling method for those if it really does work. But in reality I can see that it would clean them but not make them sound like new.

Only works for about two weeks and it really just ruins them IMHO, besides flats don't need it.

I agree I also like TI's, and Fenders. I also like the Ric nickle roundwounds but don't tell Jeff. shh! I've never heard of anyone boilng flatwounds, haha!
