Though I love 'em both, I also don't quite see the connection between JJ and Jack Bruce.

However Bob, there is ONE connection. Like JJ, Bruce also did play upright bass (and cello):

I read once an interview of Bruce in I think bassplayer mag. he had jammed with Jaco Pastorius somewhere near NY. and Jaco tried to stump him with old jazz standards and Bruce said he knew them all because of his upright background, haha! I don't hear the upright technique in Bruce though, unlike in Jamerson. Bruce was also one of my heros when I was a teenager. Bruce played cello on a lot of Cream tunes especially on Wheels of Fire.

Pretty impressive and extensive list! I would have liked to have even just one of those to my credit!

I see a little of upright style in Bruce's playing.
(Disclaimer: I have never played upright in my life and know nothing about it.)
On footage of Bruce, his right hand fingers are very curved and he seems to pull up and away a lot on the strings. This seems to me to be more of an upright style than the traditional orthodox alternating-index-middle technique.

Oh, and speaking of ... Route 66 Guitars.
It shows one of the guitars it sold as Roger's 1966 360/12.
Isn't that the guitar that was lost/stolen?
And then it turned up?
And Roger said never mind, it doesn't have to be returned?
(Which, if true, I don't understand.)
