Copperglo...

Your Copperglo is a damn sight better than the Silver Jet! Too bad Liberace is no longer with us. If he had played guitar he would have loved the Silver Jet.

"My" Copperglo is just a logical extension of a unique color that we've not seen on RICs before.

I could never understand the thinking behind those sparkle colors on Gretsch guitars. Maybe just an idea from the line of drums?

But I can't understand my attraction to the blue pearl one, either. I just like it. Must have to do with my brief career as an accordion player. That sucker (blower?) even had sequins on top of the pearl...

Paul... how is that Duo Jet as far as feel, playability and sound? I've always wanted one (a natural feeling for a Beatle nut), but they are pricey and I refuse to go the "Electromatic" route.

"They are pricey"...

Kent, you can get them on the 'Bay for the same price as a 360, roughly a grand and change.

Feel: Les Paul. Playability: solid with great sustain. Sound: Depending on which pickups you select (currently either Filtertrons or DeArmonds) you get the juicy Gretsch sound of the Cavern days or a "Be Bop A Lula" single-coil Cliff Gallup vibe.

Now for a secret: Mine is a G5725, an old Guitar Center limited run from 1997 (as near as I can find out). It was identical to a Duo Jet except for pickups and the name on the headstock, at roughly half the Duo-Jet price. Fender put a stop to this nonsense, and they are no longer available.

So my 5275 ($500.00 on eBay) got a refinish, a Gretsch headstock, rocking bar bridge, and Hot Rod Filtertrons. It plays and sounds great.

But this is a Rickenbacker Forum.

Dennis, that sounds pretty good--maybe a pearl light aqua?

Poolglo!

By metal-flake, I meant a subtle metal-flake, like the current Midnight Blue, where it just gives it a little glint:

Except, I was suggesting Midnight Violet.

The Gretsch silver is great for what it is, but probably a bit over the top for a Rick. Might appeal to some, though.

And she's glued to the sunburst Strat player...

Definitely not our type!

Haha - you guys crack me up! Yes, Howard, I'm a big bloke, and Jessica is a good sport. And a very nice Midnight Blonde vocalist!

Bob, I like the white/white idea for color of the year. Second only to Midnight Violet....

Diamond is the traditional things associated with 75 years...so maybe in the same way that there were 'shadow' and 'tuxedo' models there could be a special edition 'Diamond' white/white, special binding and engraving on chrome, scrolls (along the lines of the pattern on the 4004LK) on the tuners, tailpiece etc...
Tell me does it feel the same when you've set upon a change but your heart's in the old times?

White with gold trim - including binding.

Like a White Falcon!

Oops, back on to Gretsch again..
