I changed the strings to Pyramids several weeks ago and was very dissapointed with the sound of the E-string. No sustain, just kind of a 'dead' sound. Now several weeks later, it has come alive. It's everything that I had hoped to hear when I first put the strings on. That's what I meant by coming "alive". As far as the saddle, it is being changed out today. At this point, I can't imagine a great tonal improvement but it will center the strings on the fretboard and improve the playability of the bass.
