I've owned both, no Fender VIs right now tho. Currently a Gretsch and Jerry Jones., and I'll be getting the JagVI.

Interesting. I'm assuming the Gretsch is a newer issue?

My VI (reissue) had tons of low end through a tiny G-K Micro. I too don't know what Entwistle was talking about. Maybe he didn't notice that the choke switch was on... same as the old Ric treble-bleed capacitor.

You know, I wondered the very same thing!
