Ok, since SG's are so popular in this thread...
I went to POTR today and saw two 4003 Blue Boys...but I could have sworn one of them was a light Sea Green...that's how greenish it looked. Chris C. didn't know why it was so green...it's new. The paint must have been from a different lot or something. It was really nice!

Kenn;
I posted in the “General” section of the forum, a thread called “green with envy”, about the same topic.
Not to much credence was given by our other members. Boy they look green to me.

Just to clear up the lineage question, I was the one who purchased Tim Sarter's SG 4001V63. Supposedly only 11 or so were made. I've always wondered about SG 4003 numbers as well - haven't seen one up for sale for at least a couple of years.

Cool, Steve. I didn't know that you were the lucky buyer. He told me that it went to someone in Canada that was very happy with it. I think he said that you weren't a forum member. I'm guessing that you became a member after you bought it.
He really didn't want to sell it. We agreed on a price after one of the auctions ended(if he ever wanted to sell it, I said I'd give him X dollars which was right around his reserve price, but like I said...he DIDN'T want to sell it!) About 6 months later he tells me he sold it to a guy in Canada that offered X + 5 or 600 dollars.
Oh well, I'm glad it went to someone who really likes it, plays it, and takes care of it. I already have more Ricks than I deserve!
Cheers! (and remember me if you sell it!)

Hey Jeff - yes, I remember that Tim had a tough time letting go of it. We actually had an agreement in place for me to buy it but his situation changed and we nixed the deal. I had no hard feelings about this as I know he was very hesitant about letting it go, (as would have I). Months later he got in touch with me because he was ready to make a deal and that's how it came into my hands. At the time I thought I overpaid for it, but considering the price of standard finish 4001 V63's these days, what I paid looks pretty good!
