Mitch, where's the big foil E on the guard?

Hi Noel, yeah, thats a good question. The guard is just plain white. How is the E applied to the guard? Is it a stick-on?The guard doesn't have any residue or scratches so I don't have a clue why there is no E there as I think that this is the original guard.

Mine doesn't have the foil "E". It has the raised badge type. It fell off a few years back, leaving virtually no residue or mark on the scratchplate. I glued it back on though.

Yep, those raised E's do like to fall off. I recently got out all of my Korean Epiphone thinline's to take a photo, and three out of four E's were laying loose inside the cases.

You have a date with some superglue Randy.
Now let's have a look at that photo.
Here's mine - she has a black knob look. And she may or may not get a Bigsby in the very near future

Rob: I bought (2) NOS Epiphone Bigsbys that were available a few years ago on Korean guitars (Casinos, Wildcats, etc). They're really nice and incorporate an 'E' into the design. I put one on my transparent orange Sorrento. The other will probably go on my ebony Casino. When doing the mod on the Sorrento, I took my time to make sure everything was properly aligned, and I carefully drilled pilot holes after reinforcing the face with strips of masking tape. Then I soaped the screws and put them in slowly. I was nervous about the possibility of cracking a very pretty guitar, but everything worked out fine. If you buy a Bigsby, be sure to get the one that attaches with (2) screws and the strap button. I think it's model B70. It doesn't require you to drill any holes in the end of the guitar (just two in the face).

Cheers Randy - that's very useful information as I'm pretty nervous about drilling holes in the old girl. and thanks for the tip about the B-70 vs the B-7.
I have been meaning to ask you guys about the difference. I understand that the B-70 is the 'budget' version which is not made in the US. Are there any differences with regard to quality? Is the nickel less polished or not as high quality? Or am I totally fine to get the cheaper B-70?
