The bass arrived today. Needs to be set up bad. Any advise on strings and bridges?

String suggestions will depend on
1) how much $ you want to spend
2) how much time you'll be playing arco
3) personal preference.

I (and many others) happen to dig Obligatos. Very flexible, great string bowed or pizz'd.

That is one beauty, Marc! How much again?

There are about 12 flamed Rickenbackers in that thing!

It was $1299 from music123.com . Bob was probably right though, by the time you set it up with strings and a bridge, it'll probably cost as much as getting it from the guys he recommeded.

It don't matter to me, as the man said...

That's a beauty. I'd put it in the front window with spotlights on it...

It would look tremendous in FG, IMO.

Thats a beautiful instrument. Gorgeous actually, but for the life of me, I wouldnt have the first clue as to where to start setting one up.

It is very nice though.

That is lovely, Marc!! One question, though...... where do they hide the pickups and knobs?

They came loose inside. The rattling would drive anyone nuts.

No pickup. I have a fishman pickup coming in Tuesday.
