Stunning performance by very early EJB, pre-Davey Johnstone...just EJ, Nigel and Dee

Thanks Glenn, nice clip.
I've never been very much of an EJ fan. But there's a dazzling version of Burn Down The Mission on the 11/17/70 CD:

My wife and I got to hang with Ron after The Dirty Knobs show in Bakersfield a few weeks ago.

Ron is a down to earth and genuine guy!

Cool. My first TP show was the first show of the last tour with Ron, in '81. I'm glad I got to see them with him the first time 'round. I remember it was kind of funny when he retired. They said something like he was going to run a swimsuit shop with his wife. I hope that worked out for him.

Just caught a video of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers singing "Baby, Please Don't Go" live. Tom played a Tele while Campbell was tearing it up on a beautiful '59-'60 345! It was a very dark FG and had a Bigsby. The sound was awesome and he was killing it. I want to see it again!

Jwilli, I bought the DVD just so I could freeze frame that gorgeous Capri!

I'm glad Ron is back in the band, I never considered Howie a bass player.

I heard that was what he and the wife planned. I wonder why he rejoined, and if he had wanted to earlier. Years ago, I bought a strat from a guy in LA who took bass lessons from Howie before he was a Heartbreaker.

At rollingstone.com there's a picture of Tom Petty With a Rickenbacker fireglo. I can't determine the model because of the pickguard shape. 450 maybe?

It's a 425. Tom has been playing it live since last years tour.
