Jim,
I had my 73 from new, was my first and only Ric till 1997. She was purchased new in Scotland in 1973 and I owned and played her till she was stolen at a show in late 96.

I've had 2 stolen; one my first ever bass (1980 4001 jetglo) and the second a '91 fireglo V63 that never even made it to me.....I think both Jim Glen and myself hope you never have one stolen either, Jim. It hurts!

Ken - a firglo?! Never seen one of those!

Shaun - yes, I'm sure it does hurt, beyond losing the monetary investment in the instrument.....I NEVER want to join that club!

Unfortunate member #3... I lost my '94 4003 when some waste of humanity broke into my bedroom and stole NOTHING BUT... even with a rather expensive stereo system right next to it.

Bob - I'm really sorry...like I said, I hope it never happens to me.

Yeah... it sucked!

But thanks to the miracle of homeowner's insurance, I got my '81 4003!

Bob - I'm glad to hear that you were able to replace it, but the trauma of the break-in and theft had to shake you pretty badly....

Back when I was living in Baltimore, I had my old house broken into by a next door neighbor, and it freaked me out....she only stole some change that was on my roommate's bureau, but it was still a troubling violation....(the girl had, uh, problems, shall we say!)
