That's actually the first poor review I have seen. Most of the ones I have read are complementary of the show with a couple of jabs about forgotten lyrics or a missed note hear and there. Overall a damn good show. None as harsh as Mr. Martins. Makes me wonder why his review is on the opposite end of the critique spectrum.

I haven't really cared for anything Paul's done since, oh about, 1976.
I would never expect someone to keep shelling out the great songs that he did either with the Beatles, Wings or on his own.
Guess what, I've gotten over it, and just enjoy the great songs he did, and am thankful he's still around.
I saw the Fidelity comercial last night. It didn't get my underwear in a knot. It was cool just seeing my all time favorite musician in between innings during the Indians game!

If you, or I, wrote and recorded the title track from "C & C", would it even chart?

If, say, Brian Wilson or John Hiatt or Jimmy Buffett did same, what would people say?

But it's Paul, so he can ham it up on GMA and the hosts go all rosy...(there was even an on-screen caption about "Moptop Reborn" or something like that.

It's not the best cut on the album. But it's a great title!

I saw the Atlanta show on Tuesday & was blown away. I expected it to be a lame, boring "old dude" show & it exceeded my wildest expectations.


...and they don't come any more jaded & opinionated than me.

The review was unremittingly brutal. I'm not a fan (as you know) but I did kind of wonder what this guy's axe was. I agreed with some comments, but why so darned negative?

Oh boy. Macca does have handlers and he needs them. And I do happen to think that Mr. Martin (the writer of that horrible article) is indeed a twerp. In Pauls case he too can be a twerp from time to time. It is especially noticeable when his enormous ego arrives six hours before he does.

Perhaps his ego is merely trying to get a good seat?

I haven' read the entire thread, but has anyone mentioned his fall in Tampa? He fell through a hole in the middle of the stage where the piano comes up. Good thing he is doing Fixing a Hole.

As for reviews... who cares. I like the album and last I looked, I paid for it. Same with the concert tickets. I always felt that if the critics don't like you you're doing something right. Especially if that guy for the San Francisco Chronicle Joel Selvin doesn't like you.

I have'nt heard anymore about the fall. He must be Ok. Thats good a fall like that could have sidelined him for a long while.

When he gets to the bottom he goes back to the top of the stage .... Glad he's OK. Nothing funny about crashing 30 feet. However, I saw Rod Argent's bassist get trapped under a boom mic stand after he slid across the stage on his knees and hit it. Roadies had to extricate him -- almost like when Nigel went over backwards in Spinal Tap and couldn't get up.

I really like Paul, but he would probably charge his own ego for that seat too!
