I hope he emails John back one of these...

self appointed expert--if you had any experience working with professional musicians you would know better that to write wrong info. find some other way to inflate your ego and feelings of inadequacy. do not write again.

My response...(and the sound of him losing money and bidders on his bass, which I actually was going to go after, but not now..)

Just for the record, I have been a professional bassist / guitarist for over 20 years, recorded 4 cd's with my band, done sessions with and produced cd's for other artists, and have been playing and collecting Rickenbackers for years.

Just because your information is wrong, gives you no reason to attack me personally. Actually, I was TRYING to HELP you, since AzureGlo basses are worth a LOT more money than Midnight Blue. But, by all means, stick to your guns and be uninformed, and sell it for less.

By the way, you really should be nicer in your emails, you never know who you are writing back to.

No need to write back.

I note (if I'm reading it correctly) that he's on the 'North Shore of Kauai'...unless of course he's actually in Paducah and just 'inflating his ego' with that e-mail address...we should have Brammy (Kent F., who definitely IS in Hawaii) give him a call...although it sounds like no amount of polite help will be accepted graciously by this Bozo. Wonder if he suspects, in his wildest dreams, that he's the topic of so much informed conversation?

I got another from him. Looks like we're taking a trip. I hope it'll be fun!

"hope you enjoy the upcoming ride. it is exactly what you asked for. it is not your appointed responsibility to police and harass ebay clients. and furthermore--check the serial number facts somewhere else than what you are using--as it is not as clear as my photos. i have no bass that has serial numbers as you think. or maybe it's glasses you need. or maybe something real to base your inflated ego upon."

He's in Pittsburgh, PA. Not anywhere near Hawaii. So sad for him. Further away than me! Image

I love that John Hall tried to set him straight. I emailed him as well but have received no reply. We should send him a link to this thread. That should slap him upside the head. I love sparring with guys like this. Man it gets my blood boiling. I LIVE FOR THIS!

By the way, it looks like he deals mostly in coins. Which of course makes him a Rickenbacker expert. I think he gets his weed from Northshore Kauai'.

Here is his reply to me.

don't have time to waste with boys who have nothing better to do with their time--then pretend to be experts on authenticizing guitars. and ebay is not your personal forum to go on as the site-police--in an effort to impress yourself with the jumbled up info you think you have on vints. I do not want to sell to a non-musician. that would be a disservice to the instrument.

He's quite a charmer! His mother must be very proud.

What exactly is "authenticizing" anyway? I unloaded with both barrells. It isn't fit to print. I'm having fun now.

A common theme thru all of his responses seems to be the "inflated ego" comment. Perhaps he should just sell to the Emperor and they can become friends.

Brian, I love that you get pumped up about this. Image I also love sparring with these people. It's like taking a knife to a gunfight.

Thanks Steve. I love the knife and gunfight reference. Sean Connery delivered that line perfectly. Too bad he was riddled with bullets right after.

It's not really fair to the guy because he has no chance against us. I wonder if we could complain and get it pulled?
