The common factor was the mention of Bob Singer, CEO of Waterstone Guitars, who is still going strong, both with Ricks and with his own line of terrific import instruments!

As a 30 year Rick bass player, I just wanted to say I also enjoy the Waterstone products a great deal.

I have spoken with, e mailed with and purchased from Bob Singer for five years now, and he has always been very pleasant, helpful and professional. And his basses ROCK!!!

Now I must go and play my Rick 4000 bass!!! :D

I've also tried the Waterstone and it's a great Bass.

That flamed maple is wonderful, and would be a great candidate for a PaulW Fireglo refinish !!

Ken,
Nice to see you posting again.

I miss that guy, he was a trip!

LOTS of interesting conversations when he was around...

Anyone know where he is these days?

I used to see Ken on several occasions over at Classic Axe when it was at it's old location (Manassas). You're right Tony, he was a trip and told some great stories about the Rickenbacker basses he owned in the past. Almost sold him a Monty Brown 4003... :( Anyway, he was a pretty big guy (from being a competitive weightlifter in the past) and the 4003 looked like a toy in his hands! If you're out there Ken, I hope that you're doing okay.

Sorry if I got people thinking Ken was posting, I was just commenting on Waterstones, and how much I like their basses.

I will try to get a photo of my Ricks up, I am just a bit challenged when it comes to that! :D

Those basses of Ken's would look good with a B string...

Feels good, doesn't it? :)

On the other hand, maybe that bass would look better with a C string...

I hope Ken's doing OK.
I remember him as extremely passionate in his posts, and a guy you'd definitely want on your side in a bar fight.
