Not to deviate from the SPC...but will. If we're talking Anniversary I wish John would elaborate on the 'F' hole, like maybe its return on a certain model. Or maybe the statement I read, elsewhere, by him was just something to 'put the dogs on another scent'.

So does this mean an educated eye can help me figure out if I have a RM body from a photo of the upper horn? And/or a photo of the dots on the binding?

I got much info on the history of my guitar from the fellow I bought it from (and believe it), but wanted to understand what might be 'legend' and what might be 'fact' - I think I'm the 3rd owner, so there may have been some 'telephone game' syndrome on it. It is MG, checked binding, square heel, grommets, old strap pegs. I think the wiring has been re-done - it has a push-pull pot on the blend knob. And I think the nut has been replaced because it is white. The warranty card has in marker 'sample - must sell as second' (or similar - its not in front of me).

A Pallet of Lightshows? (starts to drool)

Hi all,Been away for awhile. In response to a request from Kevin,(Hi Kevin, my ser# is 12 away from your's)I'm posting a pic of my 370/12SPC. I bought it second hand, so I'm not sure if it has been modified. Jan.'96, has 12 saddle bridge, grommets, vintage tuners, lacquered nut, square heel, check binding, old strap buttons, smaller side markers, headstock is a little narrower than McGuinn, great thin neck, more like a 60's, warranty card --'370/12 SPC:MG'.

Kevin, don't let anyone fool you..next to you I'm the biggest fan of that 325!! What a great piece.

John Minutaglio, I could tell easily with a quick photo of the front of the guitar. John Vallee, your guitar certainly appears to be what I always called a RM "overrun". I'd really like to see a picture of the headstock, since you say it is narrower.

My use of the term does not imply that the guitar was ever intended to actually be a RM, or that the 660/12s were ever intended to be Pettys. I just have always been pretty sure that the bodies in question came off the line along with the RMs and Pettys and were left to linger at the factory, whatever the reason.

Ahh...if it is then that's a neat example John has picked up...an SPC in the true sense of the abbreviation.

1 3/4" at the nut & a little over 2" at the 12th. AKA a Tom Petty neck...
