You're serious? Then go for it, and good luck Henny! Building my own bass is something I'm not qualified to attempt at this point. It certainly is original. But I stand by my original assessment. The similarities between your guitar's horns and Gumby's head are uncanny!

Well Henny ,I think you've finally lost it.
I dont know what or how much you got to smoke for that thing to look "sexy"but I know my brain cells couldnt take it.
It looks like something you would see at sea world.LOL

I think it looks like a turtle with long legs. On it's back or walking, make no difference. I've thought about building a bass
but haven't done it yet.

Gee, I knew I could count on you guys for budding support... a young chap, taking the plunge, sharing an idea having spent lots of time researching and designing!
Others put together Ric guitar knockoffs with 4 strings, and get hailed innovators.
Ah well, you shan't laugh when it sounds like dammned honey.
This baby is
built to sound grand, chaps.... it has its own set of accoustic and resonance algorithms for God's sake.
Aesthetics came a (albeit very close) second.
Edit: Jeff, cheers mate.

Henny, you posted and you must accept the critique.
A lot of the people here seem to be traditionalists. Does that surprise you?
As wacko as musicians' reputations are as a group, you'll find that the heavy metal crowd are the only ones of the group who regularly accept new thinking with regard to shape. You'll have a much easer time selling a new pickup than a new bass design, because every amateur designer on the planet loves playing the "looks like a..." game.
Leo Fender had a heck of a time selling the Telecaster to hidebound trad country/western guys, but in the end it was sound and indestructibility that won them over. Now the shape--conservative as it is--is a classic.
That having been said, it's only another freakish shape, algorithms aside and ignoring your obvious beer goggles for the thing. Good luck anyway!

Ah, paul...
My post was merely extraneous banter, impertinent, to the N'th degree.
The guys here know I'm a "Jack the lad", fulminatingly loud, and often boistrous, but I have respect for them.... and their opinions, however unapt at present.
I'm building to sell, actually.
Two on order, one -5, and one Fretless.

Silver with Black plastic, rosewood neck, etc Howard... essentially the image you see.
It's really funny, however.. I have a whole lab full of people, (classmates), performing all kinds of weird and wonderful experiments...!
It literally is a Franken-bass.
I'll keep my Rics out of site, just in case stray voltage enkindles it alive and goes after them!
