Guilty pleasures

As well as my Rick I look after my other babies - a fretless Sei Bass, a Stingray, an Overwater and also a custom strat with EMG DG20 electrics and a Takamine accoustic. My day job is working in the oil industry as a geologist which takes up lots of time - especially when we're drilling, I gig with my band and dep with various others, I take care of my 3 kids when I get to see them, I also like photography, Hi-Fi, collecting old vinyl / new c.d.s and chasing girls. All sounds pretty normal to me......

between owning a buisness and our new baby girl, spare time is something i dont have alot of . However,at 41 i still am an old road dog and have a great little rock power trio that takes up the rest of my time . I Also do alot of session work at odd hours for the local studio in my home town.
im getting to old for this ****
Audio production is my hobby and job.
I record radio and television commercials as my 'serious' work... and 'on the side' record demos for local musicians and musician-types. I record my own compositions (when I come up with any) as well.
I also do sound reinforcement for other bands when the bands I'm in aren't gigging... which usually happens 3 to 4 nights a week.

My first bass was a Rickenbacker...
My best bass is a Rickenbacker...
My last bass may very well be a Rickenbacker

Let's see, besides my basses (4001V63 & '65 Jazz Bass), listening to music, and a gigging band. I'm a husband and father of two great kids. My wife and I have a small 10 acre farm where I dabble with tree farming.
I love to hunt and fish. I manage a metrology laboratory.
And have been known to enjoy a cold Labbatt's Blue on occasions!

Hmmm... recording and producing in my little studio, being the only unpaid hired gun in the session bassist industry and loving it, my 3yr. old and 1yr.old, my yet-to-be started '74 260Z project, taking care of my 4-ft python (he's a baby), writing, cooking (I was a chef in a former life), my lifelong research project into the effects of THC, and I enjoy a Guinness from time to time.
Along with some things that my wife would rather keep secret, that's roughly it!

What do you mean the Bass is too loud???

I like to travel and spend time outdoors. I've been a skier since I was about 10, but I don't ski much anymore as it tends to bug my knees.
I ride my mtn bike whenever I can if its nice out. (Living in Chicago, this means I have about 4 months of hybernation!) I used to race a little bit, when I was in good enough shape to not embarass myself...but that was a few years ago. Now I just do it to stay in shape, have some fun, see some new places, and ride some new trails. I ride on the road or on paved trails when I can't get off-road.
I also like to go out for a beer with friends and/or my chick, take in a ball game, go out to eat, or see some live music. One cool thing about living in a big city like Chicago...you never run out of new restaurants to try or bands to see!
