I've used capos for 40 years, starting with that hinged metal contraption with the clear plastic tubing (ugh!) to the Dunlop Elastic with double bands for 12 string - which still works after 36 years! However, I recommend the Shubb capos for their ease of use, incredible tension control, and reasonable cost. Their original six string model will work best with your Ric 12 (or 6) string...
