There is no better value in American made guitars than a Rickenbacker, i agree completly. the 325 and 350 body style appeals to me. I like the 620 but the body looks a little oddly shaped to me. Maybe if they had it pictured in firglo or jetglo it would look better.I have to find a place that has more than 1 hanging on the wall for me to try out. I have only seen 330`s and at the time had not considered playing guitar. currently no one in my area has any.....

You are much younger than I am. So even though you are not in your twenties, as your writing style implied I don't feel too bad about my earlier comment.

Typing is a skill attained, but not simply through maximizing agility and speed on the keyboard. Often in academic circles at least, progress in the attainment of the skill is measured by the quality of the output.

Some of us on the forum have pet peeves, as you no doubt have noticed, when it comes the topic of communication.

Regardless, I congratulate you on the tenacity of your search for a suitable Rickenbacker. The 350SH model is a highly desired guitar by many Ric players myself included. I have settled for a 350 Liverpool model while I wait for my dream guitar to show up on e-Bay, or elsewhere, at a reasonable price.

I agree communication is esential to properly convey ones thoughts.I have better oral ability than i do in typed form.In other words i can speak all day but cant type worth a ****....lol

I think I am leaning towards the 620 more than anything. it is calling me for some reason. I will try out a 350, 360 and a 330 just to see how they feel and sound before making a purchase.It would also help for me to learn guitar before a big purchase like that as well. I justified my 4003`s purchase after 20 years of playing bass.

Chris, "trad" is an accepted abbreviated word, not requiring a period at the end, like "mod" (short for "modification") or "bad" (short for "good").

You are much more a realist than some of us...I'm still trying to justify the ownership of all my guitars, by trying to play better each day, so I feel like I've somehow "earned" them. So far, no luck: I go to bed and toss and turn, out of guilt.

The most incredible electric guitarist I ever heard was in the backup band for a Brasilian artist, Jorge Bem Jor, who wrote "Mas Que Nada" and "Um Homem Bem", better known as the theme for the Pentium "Sock Monkey" commercial a few years back.

I saw JBJ live in an outdoor concert a block from my studio in Brasil, in 2002. This incedible guitar sound thrashing through the PA was coming from a diminutive guy in his 40s playing a $149.00 Squier Strat, which is the guitar of choice of most of the Brasilian electrical players there.

But basses? They were state of the art! Gotta have that bottom...

I am not sure if I am a realist but I am minimalist.
I have 1 bass guitar and 1 amplifier.I have the one bass that i love and i play it all the time.I cannot deal with having to change the settings on my amp just to accomodate another instrument. Besides that i would go insane trying to choose which instrument to play

i got to my local Ric dealer, the place where i got my 4003 and he says it will be at least a year before i could get any 6 string!

he didnt even have one in stock to try.

i appriciate the quality of the Ric but damn, a year just to try one!

Paul, It seems as if you have a severe problem with poor typing skills. I am not here to learn to type. i am here to learn and discuss things about Rickenbackers.
i find it very annoying that you must always point out the errors of my typing.
if you cannot reply to my posts without pointing our my typing inconsistancies please do not reply at all.

Chris I also just purchased an Epiphone Les Paul, although mine is used. I suspect that yours is probably new.

What model etc., is yours?

BTW don't get irritated if you get the occasional ribbing about typing skills. It goes with the territory so to speak, plus it's all done a bit tongue in cheek.

it is a Les Paul standard. cherry sunburst, the classic color.
i originally purchased a real cheap sx strat copy. but too many issues with it made me seek out a guitar that better suited me.not to take anything away from the SX line but i didnt feel comfortable with my brother inlaws American made tele or strat.

i have learned how to play better in 2 days on the epi than i did in 2 weeks with a strat..makes me wonder even more how the Ric 620 or 350 would have felt.

Brian, does yours seem 2 toned if you look at it straight on?I am talking about the wood under the paint, it looks lighter on the left.

as to the "occasional" ribbing it seems as if every reply by him has had a poke....I got it with you but it seems to be an obsession with him
