I think the disappointed thread is due to the lack of a cool 75th anniversary bass or guitar ... we were hoping for more than f-holes and amberfireglo ... look at what Fender is doing for their 60th anniversary ...

I guess there were several themes running in that one.

I was very interested in the 4004cii/5 a couple of years ago, but after looking at the available pics of the pickup size, I wasn't convinced that the pickup was wide enough to be effective. When the issue is addressed, I'll be ordering one.
As far as critisizing RIC goes, I think most folks are open to constructive critism, but when imflammatory statements are made using more emotion than reason, noses are bound to be bent out of shape. It isn't so much what you say, but how you say it.

I agree Steve. Things get downright rude at times and that is completely uncalled for.

Not for nothing guys, but this is not constructive at all. This is nothing but a ***** session. This topic has been well covered - there is no need to raise it again other than to vent frustration…
The bass was taken out of production so it can be updated properly and the longer we keep up this **** the longer we’ll wait for the updated model.
What satisfaction will you get by JH saying that the PUP’s were too small – nothing – satisfaction will only come when you’re holding one your hands – and I wouldn’t be holding my breathe waiting for one now…

Andy, you're right about this turning into a thread of complaints and venting. I was the one to blame for that. But there are people who spent money on these basses and they were never ready to be sold. They should have never left the factory in the first place, and there is no official guarantee by Hall that the ones that went out would be fixed.
I've operated a manufacturing business 23 years. And I didn't inherit it from my old man or buy it from somebody else who started it. To make a product that is defective, and refuse to admit it or offer a timetable for a solution to the ones who bought it is unacceptable. The owners of these basses shouldn't have to sit back and say nothing in hopes that eventually the company will do the right thing for them. And if stating it like it is causes Hall to wait that much longer to do anything about it, then who wants to do business with somebody like that? Not me.

Brad, first it was me, now it is you, being blamed for RIC not getting off their ***. What a crock. How long are they gonna scratch their heads over this stooopid thing, that could be fixed in a day. Its not a cure for cancer were talking about here.

actually there are at least 12 natural cures for cancer that work and are inexpensive and don't require drugs or surgery ... and the side effects are you get healthier and feel better ...

Exactly my point. That's why few people know about "alternative health care".

Jeff.. I am shocked that you would allow thousands of wealthy drug company employees to be set free in our countries..........wait a second...I seem to recall dating a mental health nurse a few years ago...she had tons of magazines from drug companies...It was funny to read the adds for drugs...then read the fine print and finding that the side effects were the same, even worse or (gulp!) death

Those drug commercials on tv are hilarious too!
The side effects for allergy meds, for example, are very similar to having a BAD case of flu.
Sounds like a really bad deal all the way 'round.
One drug to relieve erectile disfunction had the possible (rare) side effect of death.
Not much of a choice!

My favorite T.V. drug add side effect - anal leakage. Sounds like a South Park line. LOL
