Oops. I've no idea where "1997" came from. I'm sure David Coulthard would love to rerun the 1997 AGP, but my plans are to be there in 2007.

Ok, it's time to ramp things up a little.
Today, some of the Australian forum members got together at my place. Howard Bishop, Greg Rahilly and Ron Viney joined me for an afternoon of jamming, Rickenbacker discussions and all round good fun.
We are now starting to get more serious about the inaugural Australian Rickenbacker confluence, particularly as the numbers are beginning to grow. The date has been tentatively set for Sunday, November 5 and the location will be Melbourne. We need to know how many other Forumites are serious about joining us.
Howard and I are both preparing for our trips to the US next month and we'd like to start looking for an appropriate venue as soon as we get back. The number of attendees will determine the size of the venue.
Please feel welcome to post your intentions here or alternatively email Howard or I directly.
In the meantime, enjoy the "happy snaps" from today!

Thanks again for having us over, Darren. It was a great day with lots of Rickenbackers, great people and lots of good cheer. And the obligatory few beers, of course!!
I still can't believe how gorgeous the 335F is and how great that 450/12 is to play.
A few snaps from me:
Fatboy in all his glory.........
Does this look like a vintage guitar shop or what??
Professor Trott's first lecture..... the finer points of ebay manipulation.
Lecture two..... an introduction to Dave Pascoe's wonderful collection.
Ron with the 450/12....
WARNING!! Non-Rick content..... Darren with Ron's fabulous Gretsch Country Classic.
The best part was the jammin', though..........

Great pics guys. It looks like you all had a great time. The Ric content is magnificent. I love the look of the Gretsch too. I hear it is a dream to play. As a result of that intel, one of those Country Classics is next on my want list.

What a terrific day, it was great to just be with people who have a common interest and talk guitars! And then of course there was the jam session, beats the hell out playing on your own in the back room!
Thanks to Howard for the introduction to Darren and Greg, really looking forward to an invite to the next get together.

I'm in as long as I can feign a hand injury so I don't have to play in front of anyone!
