I paid $200 for my 1979 4001 (in 1989?)
I traded EVEN my 4003/S5 for a Musicman 5 that I paid $750 less than a year earlier (1994?)

Kevin COle, very nice White '76. Does the TRC have raised letters or is it Plexi?

I got my White '75 4001, on 9/13/04, for $500. It was a lot of cake back then as I was 19 at the time, and had just bought a brand new 1994 Full Size Chevy pickup.(62 miles on the odo)
Still have the truck (118,000mi), and the bass which I will never part with.

Swapped a "62" Fender P bass for this way back in 1975 but i had to invest lots of $$$ to get her back to normal. It was a mess Image

I paid $2000 for a 4004LK. Seeing what they are selling for now, I'm beginning to think I got a pretty good deal...

I paid $575 for my '73 4001 about 3 years ago. I got it off ebay. The pics were terrible and the seller never mentioned that it had checkered binding...I got lucky.
Picked up my 4003/5 blue beast for $1000 also about 3 years ago.

Dave R, thanks, the TRC is the standard black plastic w/raised letters. It needs a refin. The scratch between the bridge & pup surround goes right down to the wood. I still can't imagine how it was scratched that bad.

Paid $200 for this 68-69 in the '80s and the worst part was I traded it soon after for little or no gain.

$164.50 initial investment mid last year for what started as a hacked up red with black trim 1985 4003 and became the BronzeGlo. I put a lot more into it to get it back into shape though.

Alan, the white/black double binding is a very nice touch. Kinda like a 4002 (checkerboard/black).
