Nice score, Ted! Can't go wrong.
I agree with Paul Boyer. I think the black binding, black case and horrible photo quality are playing tricks here. I've taken better pics with my camera phone!

It is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Unfortunately, it is near 0 degrees fahrenheit in Chicagoland right now so I probably won't get to see it much before Wednesday.

That is the weirdest thing about Rickenbackers. I've never heard about the acclimatization procedure before I got into Rics. 48 hours wait, huh? Other basses, you just open the box.

Ilan, I took my '74 JG to Israel back in about 1975. The first case I opened after I got there was the bass to make sure it was OK. I guess I was lucky.

So, you guys were right about the inlays. I had a feeling but it was just poor photography. The good news is the bass is very clean. It has a few minor chips and one neck ding - nothing major. Quite a steal at $750. It has the usual clueless player stuff wrong with it, wacky string job, over-tightened neck pickup screws, the setup was horse ****. VERY high action because the bridge was cranked up. The E side allen screw is stripped out so I will have to dig one out of the parts drawer. BTW it warmed up quite a bit here in the last day and apparently UPS did not store the bass outside very long. The box and case were not cold to the touch when it arrived so I took a peek inside the case on my 45F front porch. The metal hardware was not cold so I closed it up right way and took it inside. I waited about 5 hours then opened it.

I'm more interested in the body binding, or lack of it. It looks like an S model with deluxe neck. Whats up with that Ted?
Can you give us a close up of the body where the binding is?

Here you go Greg. It is a deluxe all the way.
