DR Sunbeams have really great tension, and I can still play in dropped D without too many problems
Nice low tension strings, and they feel really smooth

The nickel Lo-Riders are smooth strings too.The C64 really responded well with them. And I've wanted to check out the Sunbeams out too since they are round core strings. They are also nickel plated strings which I like. The Chromes do very well on my V63, but I didn't like the sound too well on the C64, which is why I switched to the Lo-Riders. I also use them on my 4003.

After much consideration I decided to go with Chromes but not a similar gauge to stock RIC strings. I've gone with the gauge I have used most of my playing life - 45, 65, 85, 105 and they are fantastic.
I had tried flats previously on a Precision but it was awful. My 4003BB plays like a dream and is sooo easy on the fingers.
All I need to do now is fit the toaster I bought along with the vintage white scratchplate I've got coming and perhaps look out for the horseshoes becoming available again and I will be all set.

I put TI Flats on and I cannot say enough good things about them!
Very even tone wise from string to string, very very low tension but that feels great to me!
In fact I was quite surprised at the sound given that the strings feel so loose. But even unplugged the sound is there!

I went back to the Chromes on my C64. For some strange reason it sounds better now than it did at first. I will probably alternate between the DR's and the Chromes as the urge hits me. Both strings sound fine on the C64 now.
