Oh man, my old bass is going to be played in a church? You might want to have an exorcism done on it beforehand.

I have the bass pod xt live but haven't figured it out well enough to use it "live" yet. I might have to sell it if I can't get anywhere with it.

try these settings ... amp model = brit major, output level = 3-4, drive = 3-5, bass = 8, middle = 5, treble = 7, channel volume = 10, compress = 5 ... except your pod probably has high mid and low mid ...

WTG Charly! Hoping to have one of Jeff's 4-2-5s to play at church sometime soon, too, now that my CS has taken its second trip in a month - first to Mike P. in NC, the next to a buyer in the UK (still in the approval period).

I believe I have first dibs on a certain Forum member's '93 4003 MG; it should be Michigan bound as soon as the deal on my CS is declared final, and a check arrives from Mike P.

On the checkered binding, I need to find out if Dane's guy will do it locally. I only have 1 bass now!

OK, I played her in church today. The first thing I noticed was, it sounded like my 87 with rounds! the second thing was, if I played with my normal vigor in front of the bridge pickup it buzzed like crazy, almost like the cones breaking up! I settled in right behind the bridge p/u and started practicing. In the first song, I got off a string twice! I have only had the 4 string for 9 months so it didn;t take long to get back into it. As far as the amp,I first shut off the eq on the B2 and adjusted the knobs, then turned the eq back on and it sounded great! If I had my druthers, the action could be a little higher at the nit, but I think Jeff said the neck has a bit of an issue so it may not be possible. I need to learn how to not "work" so hard at my playing anyways. I have always bought thin necked 5'ers (Hohner, Fernandez, Pedulla) So the neck feels normal to me. The spacing is ok and I find I didn't feel the need to anchor my thumb, I forgot to put a pick in the new case so I will try that at practice this week.

As far as the 87, I am not at liberty to say.

I adjusted the pickups close to the strings ... if you back them off the bass won't be as hot ... also I have the action low on basses I set up ... you may want to raise it ...

if you have a speaker breaking up sound then you may have a problem in the gain structure or too much bass somewhere ... turn down the bass and the gain and turn up the master volume ...

I brought home the practice amp this week so I'm gonna see if I can figure out the bass pod!

All in all though, I love the bass and Jeff's workmanship!

when you set up the pod for low volume it may not work for higher volume ... when I first started making patches on my pod I made them too hot ...

I set up 4 patches 1 - distortion with mids ... 2 - distortion with the mids scooped out ... 3 - a clean sound with mids ... 4 - marshall amp with chorus ...

I'll try those tonight. It is weird that the chrome on the strings does seem to be "coming" off. I had practice last night and it went extremely well!
