Ed: From February 1962 until August 1964. Tony was with Mike , John and Chris when they were Johnny Sandon and The Searchers from 1960 to 1962.

If Tony Jackson and Mike Pender are still friends then why wasn't he asked to play bass in MPS?

Ed: Mike did ask Tony at the time that MIKE PENDER'S SEARCHERS were formed. You can read about the story here.

There are two early (Royal Chime Leisure) publicity shots of Mike Pender's Searchers. One has the Mike?Chris Black/Steve Carlyle/Barry Cowell line-up. The other has Tony Jackson in the line-up instead of Barry.

As I look at the photo of Tony with MIKE PENDER'S SEARCHERS I am wondering why this plan never materialized. Does anyone have any information as to why Tony did not end up with MPS? It would have been a nice combination.

A look at the Searchers' Artist Poll revels that Tony Jackson is still a favourite Searcher more than 35 years after he left the group.

I am looking for photos of Tony Jackson during the Tony Jackson and The Vibrations period. Could anyone assist in this regard?

A new article was posted today on "Needles and Pins" entitled On The Road With Black Jake which provides some information with regard to the Tony Jackson Group.
