Considering that the 4001C64 was a refined version of the 4001V63, I'd love to see another bass as part of the C series. An early 4000 would be interesting, but a late 60's 4001 would definitely be a winner.

I still want a Mike Rutherford doubleneck. I know it's not really a Rick model. I know the beast has to weigh a hundred pounds (that would be about 45 kg???). I know no one would buy one but me. I know the guy from The Musical Box has his own. But the heart wants what it wants. -J

A late 60's 4001 reissue would be great!

I like what JH and Ben have added to the 4003. Namely the walnut wings and the 4001 push/pull feature. That's close enough for me.

It would still be nice to see a production bass with checkerboard binding, full width inlays and a horseshoe pickup.

My two guesses:

1) 4001c68 - Doesn't it seem like it would be so easy for RIC to make one of these? Take the 4001c64, turn the headstock right way round, insert full-width sharks, slap on some checkers and there you go. More or less. Plus, I 'spect I'm not the only one that would buy one!

2) 370c66 in both 6 and 12-string varieties. RIC has done a number of old style 'pointy' reissues, but I don't think they've done much in the way of the new style 'rounded' reissues other than the Carl Wilson. I would think this model should be easy for them to make, too, since they perfected the process with the CW already - just throw on a third pickup, spray on some Amber Mapleglo and there you are!

I'd give my left ... um ... Big Toe for a 4001V(C)68, or 4001V(C)71, 21 fretter!

Whatever it is, I hope RIC will offer one in a FRETLESS!

I wonder why RIC never offered a 4001C64S FL?

I'd really like a sweet fretless but with a few more goodies (like a HS & toaster)than the standard 4003. I also wonder why the 4003FL is the ONLY fretless RIC makes.

Anyone know if RIC ever make a 4004L or 4004CI in a fretless version?

I might be out in the stratosphere, but I'd love to see a
365c58 with a butcher block curly maple body, pointy
inlays, and checker board neck(yes the very first ones had it!) binding....

I guess I'll just have to wish in one hand....

What i'd buy, as long as they were affordable:
- 360c70 (N.S. 360 but with bound headstock! I'll take one in Azureglo please.)
- 1993c64? (Not sure about production times for these)

4005c65 and 4001c68 are givens on any threads like these. Doesn't mean i'd like to see 'em any less!

I would like to ask if any of these suggestions would be "V" Series or "C" Series

I had always thought that "V" simply meant vintage reissues and "C" meant Beatle guitars only. I suppose mine would be V's, but that logic may be incorrect.

John Hall has said the the C series is not restricted to "Beatles" guitars. I think the C series represents a more accurate representation of the original instruments than the V series.
