Here's one more "Butcher" outtake for you guys to enjoy. Just think, if Capitol really wanted to, they could come up with a truly nice 40th anniversary box set for 'Yesterday & Today'. But, then again........

Hot Dog!!! I was wondrin' when they were gonna get around to releasing Volume 2.
Man I can't wait. Volume 3 is the one I'm really waiting on though.
See, Yesterday & Today was my very first LP record and my first Beatle LP record. Both at the same time. (I had some Beatle 45's prior...)
And my favorite all time Beatle song is "And Your Bird Can Sing". Man what a killer song. I've just always loved the hell out of that song.
It was years later when I found out that the first recording of the song started on my birthday. 4/20/66. (I was 12)
Talk about synchronicity......

David. I posted somewhere else that I thought the Revolver period was Lennon's best. Rain, And Your Bird Can Sing, I'm Only Sleeping! Just terrific. I couldn't agree with you more!

I have to go along with the both of you. It was Lennon's best period in his time with the Fabs. He put out sensational stuff in '66.

Brian & Stan: No doubt. Not only Lennon, but the Beatles as a band. The Revolver era was incredible. 1966 was such a creative year for them.
You listen to that era and man the guitars are just going nuts!! She Said She Said, Paperback Writer, Rain, AYBCS, Drive My Car, Taxman etc. Not heavy, not light, just right.
From the beginnings of Rubber Soul (late '65)just prior to the Sgt. Pepper (late '66) era are truly their best time period.
For me, Revolver is the best album of all time, bar none. Sure, you got Floyds "Dark Side.." and other great records, but Revolver does it for me.
Had "Rain" & "Paperback Writer" been on that album also.....good Lord.....

Vol. 3 will probably have Y&T, Revolver, Hey Jude, and hopefully HDN.
What I find ironic is that they're releasing the soundtrack for Help now, but they still haven't given the movie a decent DVD release like they did with HDN!

Here here on the Help! DVD.
I've been wondrin' when they're ever going to release Help!
Shoot, they ought to release ALL of the footage that they have of the guys playing live. That Ed Sullivan DVD is killer. I'm sure we all have a lot of bootleg stuff, Budokan, Shindig etc. It'd be nice to see it all released proper.
Anyway, here's to hoping they release Help! soon.
