you guys probably wont agree, but when ever i see Rickenbacker basses in stores, the new ones just dont cut it in my opinion. Not that they dont cut it as great instruments, nononono..... but just that new guitars are boring. Also being in the UK, theyre are not that many around to look at.
Rickenbackers are instruments that can be chipped, scarred and bruised, but still look amazing.

I can relate, Owen. My highly modified '63 Precision is beat to hell, but I'd take it over a pristine one any day. I just hate to be the first one to put dings and scrapes in a new, pristine bass...

Tim - You made the right choice. Keep the Sea Green 4001v63, that bass is a beauty.

I love my 4001V63, and would never sell it,even if I stopped playing out. Which I may do after a couple of years or so. I can't say that about my other basses though.

Randy, I agree with you 100% I have owned my V63 since 1985 and everytime I pick it up and feel that neck. Words just can't explain. The neck is narrow with a very flat profile - just a great bass. I have a 4004Cii on order and I just know that the V will still be my fav as it has been for nearly 20 yrs now.
Tim how's the neck on you CS?

Andy,
My CS neck is pretty close to that of my V63. It may be a bit thinner, but if so not by much. As near as I can tell they are pretty much the same bass with a different finish.

Just measured. The neck on the CS is about a 1/16th of an inch thinner than that of my V63. A subtle, but noticeable difference.
