Looking back in this thread to John Drysdale's setup, I was also looking at these components. I had been thinking about the SansAmp, but it seems like the Fulltone is a better product. I just bought a Boss ODB-3 off of eBay (cheap but no power cord...easy enough to pick one up). Reading about the tuner, I see some reviews that talked about sound loss when passing through this box. I wondered if that is worse with guitars. Do many of you use the TU-2 with your Ric bass?

Call me a skeptic... but I think a lot of this "true bypass" and pedals sucking out tone when disengaged is kinda hear-say mis-facts. Rumors gone amuck. Sure, it might happen... but I doubt it is anything that could be detected by the human ear with any moderate quality pedal. I can't hear the difference.

I think sound loss has more to do with really poor quality cables/connections, and even more key... very long cables. Keep your line to the amp as short as possible and use reasonable quality cords.

I will take the convenience of easily being and staying in tune over a 'rumored' '.001% loss in sound quality that only one guy in the crowd can hear... and he can only "hear it" because he sees that you have a TU-2 and he just bought a true bypass 300$ boutique tuner pedal that effected his sound less than his old TU-2 with carroded jacks.

I am getting off topic now... but why worry of such small details when they blast you thorough the PA at a show... NO ONE will hear the difference... your sound is in the hands of the soundguy.

Take home message... don't be afraid to get the TU-2. It is solid, easy to use, and it can power your other pedals (up to

off of one power source. I still found it $$$... so I got one 1/2 price used off of ebay.

If you have the money... there is a high end "strobe" tuner that some people rave about with true bypass and tuning error that only bats can hear. I forget the name... but it looks like a blue race car... kinda cheezy but high quality.

Luckally this is a non-issue for me as my amp has a "tuner out" option that I could used if I wanted to. But I don't because I really can't hear any difference with my tuner in my direct signal chain.

Fair enough. Thanks for the explanation. I like the way the Boss pedals can be strung together with one power source. Pretty convenient.

How about the Boss "Chorus" pedal? Does anybody use that with a bass? I had never heard of them until I started looking at the other Boss products.

I've used the Boss CEB2 for years. Solid, simple pedal. No complaints.

Yep she is

. The other ones are the rick of course and Music Man Sabre Bass and guitar. The neck on the sabre bass is pretty bowed though I am hoping it can be fixed.
