Well thanks Wes, you're too kind. I heard a lot of great players in that room. I was humbled. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way, but I kinda get a little self-conscious when I'm playing bass all by myself in a room with a bunch of other bass players!

Thanks for driving the 10 hours to come out and meet us, Wes. And thanks again for helping me unload my Ricks.

This is my first chance to post since getting home from the confluence. First of all, a big thank you to Paul Boyer for organizing the event. I haven't had a chance to look through the pictures I took, but if I've got anything that hasn't already been represented, I will post it.

As a guitarist, the highlight for me was trying out Bill Henshell's 12-string acoustic. What a beautiful sounding guitar! Here's hoping that Rickenbacker starts taking orders for them soon.

In my area, Rick enthusiasts are something of a rarity. It was a joy to be in a room full of them. Looking forward to the next confluence.

Wow! great shots of some really nice instruments. I really wanted to make it, but had gigs both days - plus just didn't have the resources this time to make the trip. I think it was Chris Papas who said at the Columbus gathering that it felt like walking into the forum, instead of logging in. You feel like you already know everyone in the room.
Geeze, I haven't posted in ages here, but still read up on events. Between working, school and gigging every weekend I don't get time to play on the net anymore.

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Wish I could have been there. Maybe next time.

I'm gonna have to track down one of those first generation Cheyennes one of these days, beautiful basses.

Actually, it was La Villa Strangiato we were messing with. Or, considering the bass colors, maybe it was Ebony & Ivory. I always get those two mixed up.

There were indeed some good players there. Also, an extra thanks to Paul for introducing my stepdaughter to some basics of theory and playing (plus I enjoyed his Yes and Beatles basslines, too).
