You can also purchase humidifer units for under $75 US that have preset humidity settings that will keep all the instruments in your music room at the desired humidity.

Gerald, I just ordered a humidifier myself, after researching them a few weeks ago. I finally decided on a Hunter Humidifer from the Allergy Buyers Club website.
Their models have digital humidistats, relative humidity controls (between 30-80% in 5% increments), and each will automatically shut off when it reaches the desired humidity.
They only need to be cleaned once a month, and I've read that their pretty quiet. I'm not too worried about humidity here, because it's not too bad indoors here in the Sacramento area, but during certain times of the year, it can get down to 7% humidity outside.
I ordered one on October 10th, and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow, on the 17th. Reason being, I'm all the way in Northern California, and these are shipped from Massachusetts. However, since you are in MA anyway, you'd probably get it right away
Here's a link to a comparison table. If you like, I'll return to this thread tomorrow if mine arrives, and I'll let you know of my impressions.

Thanks Stuart. Hunter is indeed one and another is Honeywell. On the low fan speed they are whisper quiet. If you can hear them, you aren't having any fun playing your Rickenbacker. I have found that they last about three years before falling apart and the Honeywell has a 3 year warranty.

Any pics of the storage unit, Ron? I for one am always looking for inspiration in other's clever home improvement solutions.

Thanks for the info guys, I've got something to work with now.
Kevin, pic as requested, the material used was MDF. Quite pleased with the way it turned out and so is my wife, (no more guitars under the beds - LOL)

Well done, Ron! Someday, whenever I settle in a house, I'll remember this picture.

Thanks Stuart, although the design was mine, my mate had all the power tools etc to do the job, I was the "gopher" on this project. LOL

Nice job indeed, Ron. What happens when you have completely 'stocked' it and you want another guitar?
First in, first out?

Aitch I noticed that there's an empty slot so perhaps Ron has his sights set on something "real special" to fill it. Any guesses?
Nice job BTW Ron.

Thanks Dale, coming from you that is indeed a compliment, being the master craftsman you are, not that comments from others aren't appreciated.
Howard, you seem to forget there's free space under the beds now -
(but don't tell me wife will you)
Brian the last slot, as a few members on the forum know is reserved for a nice FG 360WB, but I think that slot will be empty for some time, they're as hard as 'hen's teeth' to find, not that I collect those things mind you

Put the word out Ron that you want one. I'll certainly keep an eye out for one of those for you. If I find one I'll drop you a line right away.

I thought the empty slot might have been for the guitar out on the stand as the 'current player', Brian, but it does look like it's made for a 360WB, doesn't it?!
Of course, Ron..... there are also wardrobes, the garage, garden shed, dog kennel and the big grass-covered hole in the back yard that the sheriff doesn't know about.

I posted a request in the WTB and if it wasn't for Howard posting a comment, I don't think there would have been any interest at all apart from my mates.
Believe me Howard a WB will fit in that slot, (one way or another), that's the least of my concerns

And not so loud about the other hidey holes - you never now who's watching - LOL
