Roy: My vinyl collection was mostly British invasion reissues from the 70's and 80's (i.e. Beatles, Kinks, Small Faces, Stones, Pretty Things, Yardbirds, Zombies) together with lots of punk/new wave (Costello, Jam, XTC, Cramps, Cure, TV Personalities) and odd stuff (Coil, Psychic TV, Throbbing Gristle). Most were European pressings. It sold for $12000 USD, but I split that with my friend who sold it on consignment. We could have set much higher prices, but we didn't want to drag out the whole transaction. The important thing was that everything was in mint condition (records and sleeves). Everything sold within two months.
