What's with the white "bumper" on that Ric bass? Is that there so the guy doesn't hurt himself? LOL! Rics sure do look good on stage.

The bumper? Looks like he taped his strap in place!
Wonder what is under the duct tape?

I believe you're right! Hasn't anyone shown the poor lad the 'ol tooth pick trick?

A few maple tooth picks and Elmers glue and that pesky strap button screw will stay secure for at least a few more gigs.

Old age and treachery beats youth every time! LOL!

Back to topic, I was at my local gtr store 'Mansons' the other day & he mentioned that they sell quite a lot of Les Pauls. I asked the same question....who to? You rarely see gigging bands in Devon with Les Pauls, Rics, PRS, Gretsch etc. He told me that probably 95% of the high end gtr market is collectors.....NOT players!

Agreed. Perhaps 90% of music gear goes to home players. Not a whole lot of gear ever actually makes it to the stage. That's cool. Guitars are beautiful things to own. Festive even!

I believe it. None of my (40+) guitars have ever been gigged, as long as I've owned them.

My off the wall guess is that the number is closer to 99% on both counts.

I have 16 guitars and only 8 of them get gigged regularly. Guitars are strange though. They don't like not being played!
