Thanks, John. What is "IIRC?"
Also, I don't think I know what year your 4005 is.

Can't wait to see it when it's done.
How's the progress going on it?

Tim and Edgar...welcome to the 4005 club!!
Tim, has your 82 arrived yet? I don't think you'll have any problem with neck dive....my 66 has the standard large style Rick tuners (replacements) and the neck balances perfectly (and I use one of those skinny 50's type straps with the little shoulder pad.) You might want to do the cap mod as it made a huge difference in the UMPH on mine.
Edgar, sorry if I missed the thread, but exactly what are you having Dale do to the 67MG? A neck reset...re-finishing?
I love the neck on mine (feels thinner than my 4001) and we get that 21st fret as a bonus! I also really like the rounded top as the binding on my 4001 gets to my forearm a bit.
Question for you WB guys...Is there checkerboard binding on the top as well as the back? cheers dm

No checkered binding on the WB's, David.

Mine's a '67 also. That does seem to be the most common year.

Edgar - that pic with the neck next to the body looks really sad but we all know what Dale can do. I guess getting there is half the scare... er, fun.

David,
It's a '66 and Dale is resetting the neck, cleaning up the fretboard, redoing the binding and stripping the MG off and refinishing it in BlueBurst. Oh, and he rechromed all the chrome pieces.
The bass was in very sad shape but I was looking for a beater so I can have it refinished. The MG on there was really damaged and full of nicks and scratches. It NEEDED to be refinished and I just didn't want the MG finish on there again. Ever since Blueburst came out, that has been my favorite finish and the 4005 being my favorite Rick model, I decided to go that route.
John A,
I'm not worried at all. With Dale working on it, to me it's like having a Rick custom shop doing a repair/refinish. So I'm happy and uber confident that Dale will come through, as always.
Tim,
I NEED YOUR ADDRESS IF YOU READ THIS!
The '82 is boxed up and ready to ship. She's going to a great home. I've already said my goodbyes.

Tim,
I think the weight difference is due to the non-WB having more wood around it's circumference for the rounded top edge.
My 4005WB is from Feb '67.
