I started a thread about Personal Weekend Highlights before I found this thread. Maybe Peter can move it to this thread and keep it all in one place.

What an experience!

Phew!! Where do I start?

I'll post some detailed reflections later but meeting all the wonderful people who were so friendly and warm toward me was the unforgettable number one highlight for me. I'm still spinning......

Then there was the HOB..... an unbelievable experience! Image

My sincere thanks also to the Halls, Alison, everyone for all of the events. Especially thanks to all the the great staff we disrupted during the factory tour. It was such fun, and a privilege to be there, and really incredibly fascinating. The sounds, the smells, the sawdust, the paint, the laughing, the t-shirts for my relatives.. (ok, mostly for me)..

The Museum was absolutely incredible, I will love to check it out again sometime when I'm visiting the area. And the HOB evening was truly special. Such an amazing treat to see and hear so many of these instruments in person, and all at once!

I really did enjoy meeting so many folks from so many places- thanks so much for making a forum newbie/lurker feel so very welcome, something I'll not soon forget.

Wow, Siegrid, welcome to the Forum...

Your last name rings a roundwound low 'E', for some reason...

Ah, there's Siegrid! It was nice to have met you in Santa Ana and welcome to the forum! Of course how could I not like someone whose name reminds me of "Sea Green"... Image

heh heh. "Sea Green" - now there's a proper color and pretty decent nickname! Right, that last name of mine meanders way back to Switzerland with various creative spellings through the years..

Forum member performance highlights:

Darren "Stevie Ray" Trott - dang good drummer also
Kenny "Mr. Entertainer" Howes and boys - always a great hi-power performance!!
Alisha "Chops" Tremaine in her first public appearance ever - thanks KH for getting her up there!
Scott "Show me the Chords" Jehlik - on Dane's 8-stringer who had the cahones to get up there and learn the songs on the fly! Kudos
Jason "J-Dog" Mendelson - always ready with a 12 string in hand or the drums
'Aitch "B" Bishop - dispelling the myth he can't play. Ask him about his cool tiny-sized/huge sound mini traveler amp
Mellisa "Unpluged" Breitsprecher doing her origional on Paul's Laramie 12 string
Gary "Doctorwho" Clauson rocking it out and lending his 4002 for the cause
Jeff "Flowing Fingers" Scott wowwing us on that 4002

There must have been more but someone will have to jump in to help - typing/spelling is becoming difficult...

Oh, yeah! John "Mr. 4005" Biscuti - the finest young man I've met in a very long time with a very bright future!

And last but certainly not least:
Dale "Mr. Cool" Fortune belting out just about the whole Beatle catalog!

Great post, John.

As I sit here at the Doubletree Club, without any of my friends hanging around this lonely ol' place, I have a nice feeling inside as I remember your huge smile and warm laugh.

15,16,17 oh ****...bottles!

Hey Darren, I'd love to catch up with you on Wednesday, maybe for dinner? Give me a call during the day tomorrow - do you still have my cell phone number?
