Spoke to soon. I'm out. Turns out the dealer thought there was an order placed, when in fact there was not.

Wow! Sounds like most of the 75's will be living here.
I've attempted to order a 4003 through the local dealer, so far status is unknown.

I decided not to celebrate the 75th this time around, but don't feel bad for me, I'll be celebrating the 33rd anniversary of this.

Well, ya know, I didn't want to feel left out so....here's another one!
In reference to price- I paid $1799 for this one back in 2004, I think it's a pretty good value when you compare it to the 75th's price.

Well happy half century Jeffrey, I'll be 47 in Nov. I think there'll be plenty of nice ricks at your b-day party so keep your chin up young man.
At least you got to go to the 75th party, that would have been good enough for me.

I'm in...but just barely. Thought of a local dealer on the way home from work that might have some of these on order, then jumped when he said he still had a 4003 to reserve.
Still, I'll believe it when I see it. I've had other Rickenbackers on order that never materialized: a 4004LK and a 4004Cii5MB. We'll see.
