with the price of 4001cs basses I can see a market in converting 4003s basses into cs look alikes ... I'd rather have a look alike 5 string than a real 4001cs ...

Ted, that looks like one big project and looks like it's going well!
I was wondering if you needed to sand the wings on the side where they meet the neck?

I may have to run the wings over the jointer to true them up a bit but they should be about perfect to start. The wood may have distorted somewhat during the heating process.
