That would be breaking both of J Dog's first two rules of music theory. So, yeah, sure. Can't be better than Bottles, though.

So, can anybody name this chord?
-|-I-|-II-|III-|
e|---|---|---|
b|---|---|-x-|
g|---|---|---|
d|---|-x-|---|
a|-x-|---|---|
e|---|---|---|
That's my fav chord in D minor key, and i don't even know how it's called (but then again, i never really cared how the chords are called...)! Goes like D-E-G-Bb or something (not sure about order), as it seems? (if i counted right, of course)

E G Bb D comprise E half dim 7. That is a good one, Sheena! Very cool sound.

Oops. E half dim 7 - sounds cool! But i actually use it instead of "plain and simple" Gm!

In that case it's more appropriately called Gm6.

Hmmm. Gm6 sounds too boring.

If you can learn to barre that chord, Sheena, a whole world of jazz-like voicings will open up for you. It's a really fun shape that can add a really classy flavour to simple progressions. It might take a bit of hand strengthening (especially on the larger neck of a 650) but it really pays off. I have small hands, and I've been able to manage quite well, so go on and have a try!

Hmm, sounds tempting, John. I love bar chords. What would be the tab for a bar Gm6? Or, do you mean something like this:
-|-I-|-II-|III-|IV-|
e|-x-|---|---|---|
b|---|---|---|-x-|
g|-x-|---|---|---|
d|---|---|-x-|---|
a|---|-x-|---|---|
e|-x-|---|---|---|
(would that be G#m6?)

BTW, another nice option for D (both major and minor) key - a simple but nice 3-chord progression:
-|-I-|-II-|III-|IV-| (D7)
e|---|-x-|---|---|
b|-x-|---|---|---|
g|---|-x-|---|---|
d|---|---|---|---|
a|---|---|---|---|
e|---|---|---|---|
-|-I-|-II-|III-|IV-| (D#7)
e|---|---|-x-|---|
b|---|-x-|---|---|
g|---|---|-x-|---|
d|---|---|---|---|
a|---|---|---|---|
e|---|---|---|---|
-|-I-|-II-|III-|IV-|-V-| (F7)
e|---|---|---|---|-x-|
b|---|---|---|-x-|---|
g|---|---|---|---|-x-|
d|---|---|---|---|---|
a|---|---|---|---|---|
e|---|---|---|---|---|

RE: So, can anybody name this chord?
RE: In that case it's more appropriately called Gm6.
It is an Em7b5
E (1) Bb (b5) E (1) G (b3) D (b7) E (1)
Or
An inversion of a Gm6:
E (6) Bb (flat 3rd) E (6) G (1) D (5) E (6)
(No, I did not figure this in my head. I wish I could.)

Inversions melt my brain. I wish I was better at them and at chord formulae generally, because I really love chords. You can never have too many of them ...

Inversions aren't as tricky as they seem - but then again, i've memorized the spelling of basically every triad and 7th combination, so it takes about 10 seconds of re-arranging from that point.

How about that one, then?
-|-I-|-II-|III-|
e|---|---|---|
b|---|---|-x-|
g|---|---|-x-|
d|---|-x-|---|
a|---|---|-x-|
e|---|---|---|
(used instead of C7 for E minor key)

We get inversions over Denver sometimes...the 'brown cloud' gets so thick you can't see the mountains...
Okay, sorry...someone give Sheena an opinion, willya? I don't speak Greek myself...

If i'm reading that chart correctly, Sheena, it's a C9.
