Wow, thanks Eric! I hope to be that good someday. Jeff and Ilan, maybe I should install 4 humbuckers too.

That would rock, Ted. And a little exhaust header would complete the look!

Sometimes I get going on part of a project and 3 or 4 hours go by seemingly in minutes.

That hot-rodded 6-string is.... really different.
I agree with Eric, Ted. It would give you time to develop spraying technique.

Ted, if you use walnut for the body wings, you can do a 4002/Lemmy tribute. Are you going to put the mic jack on the side next to the regular jack plate? If not, that would be the tell tale sign that it was not a real 4002. I've had a project in mind like this for some time but as a 5 string. I think the ebony board and lack of routing in the neck blank would make it strong enough. Looks like you're gonna need to use RIC vintage style Schaller tuners to cover up all of those string holes.

Ebony is amazing wood. It is very strong and it takes to tooling very well. Of course it is also very heavy and it eats saw blades in a hurry. It is also brittle and will chip or splinter easily if you are not careful.

Ebony has other uses as well......

That is another kind of wood altogether!
