How about when the love your life introduces you to another love?? Well, re-introduces actually.
About 3-4 years ago my wife and I were just talking, and somehow I mentioned it might be fun to get a guitar I could noodle around with--told her I'd fooled around a bit when I was in my teens and early 20s, but due to lack of two key ingredients--talent and commitment, never really got any good. Nothing more was said...it was just a comment in passing kind of thing. A couple months later, for our anniversary, she presented me with a little Alvarez acoustic--an RF-8, one of Alvarez's entry-level guitars. Well, some 25-30 years of latent yearning came alive with that little guitar!
Now I've taken over one of the bedrooms in our house with guitars, amps, even drums! Work still gets in the way, but my commitment is alive and well--and all because of Mary Ann...I doubt I would've actually gone out and bought a guitar for myself a couple years ago.
So while I've been very fortunate to be able to find and own some very nice instruments, like my Rics, that Alvarez acoustic will always be here...
And oh yeah...still working on that lack of talent thing
