Eric,

What did you decide? Are you going to take that C63 or wait for another one?

Look at it! And it's not even going to be played? Yikes...

Kevin:

I am going to purchase this one tomorrow.

It is probably fair to say that all of these guitars are beautiful examples of very high quality workmanship. When I ordered it I had a good idea of how I hoped this one would appear. When it came in and wasn't quite what I had in mind, I was wondering how this particular guitar compared to others C63s. This site was one that I felt could provide the answer through an extremely concentrated group of educated Rickenbacker users.

The decision to purchase is in large part due to the assessment of those who responded to the question and the remarks I read were greatly appreciated.

Incidentally, although it was purchased primarily as one of a number of guitars for display in the show, there is little doubt that it will find its way into the hands of a player eventually.

Eric,
That's great news! It's a beautiful guitar and I know you'll be pleased. BTW, as nice as they are to look at, they are meant to be played!

This guitar is very nice and would be a tough decision for me. I think the wood on that particular guitar is stellar. The maple is clear and both the front and back have an excellent grain pattern.

I would be happy with the current shade of fireglo. I prefer a darker fireglo (and did like some of the clownglos from July), but I understand how the current color is a result of making the formula comply with EPA regulations.

The thing that would make this guitar a tough choice for me is the shading pattern. I think the shading on the back is okay, and the shading on the front near the tailpiece is nice. However the front upper cutaways seem to be all color and lacks natural to red shading. There doesn't appear to be any mineral spots or dark grains in the upper cutaways so it's too bad that they were unable to spray it with the natural to red pattern.

I know that we will not get a C63 "exactly like George's", but some of us are hopefull that from time to time, we will again see some C63s with a finish that is true to the 1963 version in every aspect - down to the shading on the Fireglo finish.

Eric,

Did you receive the guitar yet?

If so, what do you think?

Come to think of it, I think the finish on my c63 is a bit on the dark side too.

Eric, that is a beautiful subtle fireglo.
Enjoy!

The C63 is a sweet playing guitar.

I will get one, someday *sigh*

Idle thoughts, Will RIC resume production of the C63 soon? Anyone venture a guess? Alright I confess all these pictures a rave reviews have upped the anticipation level from yellow to orange... could be red sooon....

I wonder who has that bass now?

That would be almost impossible to find I would think.

Someday I should find it and buy it, that would be pretty rad!
