No, it wasn't, but sometimes I decide that i'd rather avoid any sort of confrontation - unfortunatley, after i've already posted.
When it comes to music preferences, I sometimes forget that they're just that - preferences. There's no right or wrong.
That being said, Roundabout and Starship Trooper are cool songs.

Aw, I missed the post . . .
Is this *that* heated of a discussion? I mean, how many people here absolutely adamantly believe that Yes is in now way qualified to be inducted into the Hall of Fame? Even if you don't like them at all, there's a lot more in the equation than that. I don't like the Ramones at all, but they certainly deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. No way do I think that ZZ Top should've been inducted before tons of other bands that haven't been, even though I like ZZ Top. They have a Britney Spears display downstairs for god's sake (Thankfully, she's not eligible for induction)! But yeah, Hall of Fame is good only to really see all the cool stuff they have downstairs, and their special exhibits tend to be cool (the first time I went, it was a John Lennon exhibit; the second was "Tommy"). They seriously need to reconsider their actual inductions, though, or simply do away with inducting people and simply have the museum as a testament to modern rock-related music. It's much cooler that way.

Great discussion! Really, the REAL rock'n roll HOF is in your album collection. You choose the inductees.
And Bobcat (Mr. Schuster), both your long posts were well-written...and I LOVE the Ramones.
In the end, WHO CARES WHO'S IN THERE!?! I wouldn't put Rush in if you put a gun to my head (okay, I'd consider it), but Jeff Rath would.
Cool. Now, I won't be visiting the Jeff Rath Rock 'n Roll HOF (Jeff, I know you were gettin' around to invitin' me), but many others would.
We have this discussion all the time here at work regarding the baseball and hockey HOF's. It's part of the fun.
Should Don Sutton be there? Why did it take Gary Carter so long? So what if the media didn't like him. Clark Gillies in the HHOF?? Are you nuts???
Donny Baseball...his number just fall short.
And so forth. It makes for a good way to waste an hour with friends.
Wait 'till the cutting-edge Rap artists get inducted, and the mainly white, middle-aged boomers who populate this forum get up out of their wheelchairs and slooowwwlly type their rage.
FLASH AHEAD A DECADE OR SO FROM NOW
(What...no Rush...but Public Enemy is there? Run DMC? NWA????)
I'll be laughing while I strain my failing eyes to read that post.

How much!?!
"John's post wasn't that pointed. At least this somewhat heated discussion is about music and not politics or religion."
when I typed "pointed" it really wasn't the word I wanted because it is too strong and with negative conotations, but I couldn't come up with a better substitute. I really enjoy John's posts and respect his viewpoint because of my personal dealings with him, his knowledge, and his talent.
It is because of the above I would have liked to read what he posted. No biggie, at all.
Charley - what do you mean by turning on "verbose"? Forum feature, or browser?

I visited the R&R HOF in September and enjoyed it for what it was - an interesting place with lots of memorabilia. For me it was more of a history refresher course than anything else.
Discovering who's in and who's not was interesting but it wasn't the purpose of my visit. I'm with Mick - I don't really care!
