Didn't RIC make a couple of units in Amber Mapleglo then reject the concept as too similar to regular MG?

PMBlues has one, a 330/12 I think...

Yeah, not Amber enough.

I think they should reconsider.

RIC can't really go back and recycle a prior COY. That would defeat the entire purpose of there even being a COY.

And it would cause debate and speculation that one wouldn't really have to buy the COY during the given year because of the possibility that it might resurface.

I'm sorry but you had to see the Amber Mapleglo test guitars in person to appreciate the problem. At the point where you had enough amber to even notice that it was there, it looked like a dog had lifted its leg on it.

Didn't they recycle the Blue Boy? That was once available overseas, then we saw it here?

The simple solution for the amber mapleglo is to finish them as a standard MG and then age them for, oh 10-20 years before shipping!

Better get your orders in. The wait's gonna be a killer! Image

I believe Blue Boy started out as a special finish for Asia and Europe and later became an "official" COY.

It's likely we may do the "overseas only" color trick again. It really puts a crimp in the gray market, especially with a color as cool as we have tested.
