That was just what we needed Aitch...

However, another superb knock from RP and this looks like we're heading for the draw. If you boys don't collapse in the first session you should get close to our total, and it would take a brave punter to bet on a result from there...

Anything can happen, Wints, but I'd be offering very short odds on a draw - even shorter on an Aussie victory. Seems like we'll be off to Perth with the situation as is. Today will be very interesting, however.... Gillie is due for some and The Pup is in good form.

Heading towards the draw here then Aitch...

Hopefully the WACA has a little more life in it, so there is a possibility of a result.

One way or another...

I think you'll be safe, Wints. It only needs two to put their heads down for a couple of hours and that will shut the Aussies out. Perth is a pretty flat track these days so it could be more of the same - thousands of runs and very tough to take wickets.

Well Aitch,

That'll teach us to underestimate the England team's ability to collapse...

I'm lost for words at present...

And that's it for a contest I believe...

Me too, Wints. I couldn't believe that they would fold like that. They handled Warne and Co. well in the first dig and the pitch hadn't changed, so what happened? One crook decision, sure, but some poor shot making when they didn't need to.

I'll bet the Pommie press will be having a field day and calling for blood!!

Indeed! Looking forward to it, Wints. I like the Perth tests..... I get to see the last 3 hours or so when I get home from work! Image

Let's hope for a contest.

A promising first day by the look of things Aitch. We should have had the full Monty in the game long before he proved he can bowl today.

Ah well....Now, if we can bat a whole day, it could get interesting. This wicket looks like it's going to produce a result one way or another.

Certainly an interesting day, Wints. I only managed to catch the last session but saw enough of Monty to feel that the selectors should be hung for not putting him in for the first two tests. The second at least!

Interesting pitch, too. Perth tracks have been becoming a bit flat but this one is straight out of the 80s or early 90s!

Weel, Wints, it looks an Aussie victory is the most likely outcome - unless Freddie and KayPee can stay there for at least a session. The Brits were really looking good yesterday - committed and dogged. And they played Warnie really well!

Those two late wickets lost could be the kicker Aitch...

We need to dig in on this last day until lunch and take it from there.

Wait a minute...Haven't I said this before...Image

Oh yeah..... don't speak too soon! This situation is right up Warnie's alley. Many, many of his almost 700 wickets have come from 'cleaning up the tail'. I don't include Freddie and Kaypee in that, of course. Freddie in particular is due for an extended stay in the middle.

Well, the Queen might like to consider taking back the MBEs, Wints! Not good......
