Sorry, should've said it just hit here in Ontario - still won't be 2007 out west for a couple of hours! Happy New Years everyone. Any musical resolutions for the new year?

Happy New Year to all forum members.
I was going to have an alcohol-free day today but my wife just offered me a glass of cabernet-merlot and I just couldn't say no. Cheers everyone!
Oh yeah, and I discovered that I can now buy cheese wizz from my local supermarket at long last. I just love this age of progress. I can now have Philly cheese steaks in Melbourne!
PS Greg - my thanks to you and your family for a great night last night.

Well, it is the new year!
Last night Shari And I got together with a bunch of old friends to watch movies (not those kind, Aitch!). A longtime friend of mine is a film collector, so we watched lots of old trailers going back to the '30s, Looney Tunes, Amblin and WB cartoons like some Bugs Bunnys, Coal Black 'An De Sebben Dwarfs, and a Roger Rabbit cartoon, then we watched Big with Tom Hanks, and then Mike showed something really special. Keep in mind this is on 16mm (cartoons) and 35mm film. Surprisingly ,we did not watch any Laurel & Hardy, Three Stooges, Little Rascals or W.C. Fields last night, which is the norm to do so.
The really special film was a color Pathe newsreel (extremely rare for these to be in color)of The Beatles performing at some small concert hall in Manchester, England some time around '62 or '63. It was a great documentary with intimate footage of the lads getting ready to play and joking around in their dressing room, among other things relating to the audience and venue staff. They played She Loves Me, and Twist And Shout. George was playing his Gretsch and John had his Hamburg 325 in JG with the Bigsby vibrato and Burns knobs. Does anyone here know anything about this film?
BTW, if anyone is interested, next Saturday Mike is showing Psycho!

We're 21 hours and 23 mins into 2007 here in England.
I ended up going to the next door neighbour's who had a few friends with them. They'd all gone on a party crawl before, stopping off at most of the party goer's houses as part of it. I joined at the final leg. I had a few glasses of champagne and champagne cocktail (not sure what was in it, apart from brandy and champers) and forgot most of the words to Auld Langs ein (Forgot how to spell it, sorry if it's the wrong spelling) and found bed at 4am. Slept till 7pm today... Anyway, happy new year fellow Ric players and future Ric players and appreciators

Well, had a great time again on new years day jamming at Howard's place.
It's funny how that foggy feeling of having a little much 'new years cheer' the night before, seems to lift after you start to get into playing.
We started off very very reserved, but after a couple of hours we were getting right into it - much to the neighbours disgust I'll bet! LOL
Had a great time and looking forward to meeting one of our US cousins and maybe having another jam in a couple of weeks!

Yep! It was another great day, Ron. Thanks again for coming over - our marathon jam sessions are becoming a real highlight for me. One of these days we might publish our play list here so that everyone can see how old and set in our ways we are!
The last set with your 350v63 and my 620 was awesome.... two Ricks with the chorus cranked up on two Roland amps. Sounded great! Maybe next time we should take a pic or two.
Er..... enlighten me, Jeff - please explain "that kind" of movie. Obviously only available in Cleveland.......
